The Perks Of Being A Blogger | By Harrison | #AD

I feel as bloggers, we spend so much time trying to justify how hard blogging is, how it’s not all events and freebies, we forget to talk about the good stuff. Yes, blogging can be tough, a lot of work is required and you’re constantly on the hunt for ‘content’, you never switch off. However, blogging is incredible, with some amazing perks and something I would urge everyone, if you’re thinking about it… to just start!

With that in mind, I thought I’d bring you all a post, dedicated to the good stuff. And there’s quite a lot. So grab yourself a drink, maybe a few biscuits and get comfortable. This is, The Perks Of Being A Blogger.

// The People \\

First and foremost, the people you meet is a good enough reason in itself to start. What I should say before we go any further, all and any of these things won’t happen overnight. You’ve got to put in the work to reap the benefits.

Nevertheless, I’ve met some of the most incredible people throughout this blogging journey. People I would call friends, people I know I can trust and people I know, despite me leaving for New Zealand, I’ll be friends with for life. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got an incredible group of friends as it is, but having friends, who all have the same interest as you, who are all in the same industry is just wonderful. You can bounce ideas off each other, discuss the tougher times of blogging and have a real connection with each other.

// The Creativity \\

I’ve mentioned this before both on here and on my Youtube Channel, but I have a really boring job. I work (as of September, worked) in finance. It’s not something I purposely got into, I just fell into the job. The whole reason I started my blog was to have somewhere I could exercise my creativity.

As the years have gone by, I’ve managed to use my blog as an escape. A way for me to channel my creativity, a way I could escape the perils of everyday life and somewhere for me to come at the end of the day to do something I truly love. It’s so important to do what you love.

// The Events \\

Let’s be honest, it’s not something people do very often. But the events you get to go to are pretty epic. Free dinners, free cruises, free festivals? Yeah, they’re all pretty good. I’d be lying if I didn’t say they were a massive perk to blogging. But don’t get it twisted, they’re not a reason to start.

In 2018 alone, I think I’ve lost count at the amount of events I’ve been to. Like I said, dinners, cruises, festivals, I’ve been to the lot. They’ve been so awesome, I’ve tried food’s I wouldn’t have tried otherwise, I’ve been to festivals I never would’ve even thought of going to and I’ve done things I wouldn’t dream of doing. Attending all of these events, supporting local companies has been real perk of this whole blogging thing. Without dragging it down too much, just to be transparent with you all. Attending the events requires a lot of work, It’s not just free food. Check out this video to see what goes into attending events.

// The Freebies \\

Again, something people don’t really like to talk about. The freebies. Having brands actually reach out to me and want to send me things is still a pretty foreign idea to me. The fact they even think of me is still mind-blowing but that aside, it’s pretty cool.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with some really great brands, discover some great companies and be sent some pretty epic things. This blog post is actually in collaboration with a brand, Printiki. Printiki is a really cool company that allows you to print your pictures, straight from your instagram. You have complete freedom in picking the sizing, frames and finish of the images. You can add captions to the picture and at SUCH AN AFFORDABLE PRICE! To grab yourself free shipping, use code >> C7BXVGE4 << at checkout.

// The Readers \\

Last but absolutely by no means least. You guys. The people who take the time out of their day, to come to my little corner of the internet, listen to my ramblings and enjoy whatever content get’s pumped out of my brain. To whoever double taps over on my Instagram, who likes a tweet or watches a video. You guys really are the best.

It isn’t all about numbers. There is more to life than how many people like an Instagram picture. But when you’ve put so much effort in creating the content, to have people actually appreciate it, it’s a special feeling. So to anyone reading this, thank you and congratulations on making it to the list of perks.

If you’ve not already guessed, blogging is an incredible thing. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done, the best hobby I’ve ever had and I can’t see that changing any time soon. I completely love making content, week in week out. Whether it be a blog post, an Instagram picture or a Youtube video. Creating content of any kind really is my passion.

A big thank you to Pinitiki for providing the polaroids for todays blog post. They’ve turned out so well & a really great memory to keep for years to come. Remember, head over to Printiki.com to print off your memories now.

I was gifted these pictures by Prinitki in exchange for today’s blog post. As always, all opinions are my own.
