For months now, I have been trawling ASOS, mooching round the shops and desperately trying to find the perfect autumn-winter wardrobe. Finally, I feel happy with it.
It’s one of my favourite things to do. When the new seasons come round, clear out the old wardrobe, work through what can stay and what must go and then replace everything for the new season. Now though, I feel I’m happy enough with the balance of ‘trend’ pieces and ‘essentials’ that will stay around for years. So without further ado, let’s get into it.
* Clearly I can’t pose seriously *
Firstly, these jeans. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a slave to skinny jeans. It’s been my uniform for years and It’s all I’ve ever worn. However, early on in the season I was in H&M where I decided to take the plunge into a regular fit jean… with the intention of only wearing them turned up. I actually picked this pair up in the sale for just £4, I know right, bargain.
For me, they’re the perfect shade of denim. They’re a very neat wash, even in colour and a little off shade than the typical denim you usually find. I like to pair these with my Vans, but for this shoot I pulled out my old Nike Janoski’s and took them for a spin.
Paired with a plain black sweatshirt and you’re good to go. A trendy, chic yet comfortable outfit. The black sweatshirt I wore on this shoot is also from H&M, but part of the collection they did with The Weekend.
Surprise surprise, another item from H&M and probably my favourite thing I’ve ever bought. This coat. I walked into their store, this was the first thing I saw, the first thing I tried on and fit like a glove. I knew it was meant to be.
It’s the perfect coat. It’s smart and tailored so you can really dress it up and make the whole outfit look really ‘put together’. Yet, it’s not very structured so styled correctly and you can really dress it down to make it a more casual look. I’m completely in love but the only thing I would say about it, due to the heavy pattern you have to go quite plain on everything else. Other than that, I have no issues.
