Moving into a new house that requires a lot of work means at some point, you’re bound to get your hands dirty. For me, that was my idea of hell. However, in time and after many hours of stripping wallpaper, I think I’ve actually found a love for DIY.
For me, it’s the sense of accomplishment. It’s that feeling of a task needing to be completed, planning it out, beginning it and seeing it through. Then at the end, you can see what you’ve achieved and the work you’ve put it. There’s something really rewarding about it.
Not only that, but doing it yourself saves money. There is no room in this new house, that doesn’t need work done. With that, comes a huge expense. So doing everything you can to minimise cost means you’re able to spend in other places that really need it.
I genuinely never thought I was going to be the kind of person who actually enjoys DIY, but turns out I am and turns out I look forward to fore-filling this project over the next few months!
Join me tomorrow for end of week 1 of Blogtober!
