From Blogger To WordPress | By Harrison

Collage_Fotor_FotorAs you know, a while back I converted from Blogger to WordPress, gave it a little face lift and came back with a big ol’ re-launch. So today I thought I’d tell you about how I found the process, what I learnt and is it worth it?

Let me begin with why. When I first started blogging, I was weighing up what platform to use and came to the conclusion, Blogger was easier. Back then, I had not one single clue about anything, I just needed some quick, easy and simple to use. As time progressed, I began to love it more and the blog started to grow, I needed more flexibility. I needed more control of the layouts and features of the blog and overall, I needed it to look a little more professional. Blogger wasn’t going to give me that, so I took the leap and headed over to WordPress.

So let’s jump into the things I learnt from the move…

It was hellaaa stressful. Figuring out how to export the blog, figuring out HTML coding, designing the new blog, creating the styles & setting up re-directions. When you think you’ve sorted one thing, there’s always something else.

The export was easier than I thought. Once I’d figured it out, actually doing the export from Blogger to WordPress was actually easier than I thought. For any of you who may want to do it. Simply click export blog on the settings menu, save it to your computer then import to WordPress. It’s actually pretty easy.

Google becomes your best friend. No matter what you need or want to do, if you’re unsure, google it and I guarantee the answer will be there. Honestly, I used google for near enough everything.

It’s so worth it. Since making the leap, I’ve loved being over here on WordPress. The freedom and features it provides, is amazing! I’ve not regretted a single thing!

This is one of the things I love the most about blogging, the creativity. It’s been such an amazing experience to get my teeth stuck into a massive project, create a body of work I’m super proud of and something that I’m crazy in love with. It’s been a long time coming and now that it’s over… let’s just say I’m one happy bunny!

As you’re reading this post, I’m in the process of moving house… life’s been a little crazy and It’s only about to get crazier! Stay tuned for some DIY inspired posts!

Thanks for reading!
