It’s no secret, I’m a massive fan of skincare. I honestly think I may be addicted. I can’t walk into a Boot’s without walking out with some form of cleanser, mask or serum. It’s seriously unhealthy.
So when I learnt of a Morning Cleanse, I was all over it like a rash… as you could imagine. For the life of me, I can’t remember where I read of this. But basically, I have my evening routine, where I cleanse quite extensively, followed by a serum. But in the mornings, I tend to just wash my face then begin my routine… I have never really thought to cleanse in the morning.
When you think about it, it kind of becomes obvious. Just because you’re sleeping, your skin isn’t. During the night, your skin will continue to produce oils, you’ll have a build up of the product you used the night before and all this combined, means that actually, you probably would need to cleanse again in the morning.
So with that in mind, I decided to test this out. It’s been a week since the experiment began and I think I’m converted… I think I’m a morning cleanse kinda guy.
I wouldn’t say I’ve seen a massive difference to my skin in terms of the way it looks. But the things I have noticed are:
You feel more awake – Having that cleanse in the morning is the perfect thing to wake you up and actually make you feel alive.
Freshness – You definitely feel more fresh. The difference in the feel of your skin before & after is incredible.
Easier application – The ease of applying moisturiser etc. When I now do my morning routine, the products I use on my face sit a lot easier and look a lot better.
It doesn’t matter what cleanser you use. Whether it’s a scrub, a gel or even a micellar water. As long as you commit to doing a cleanse in the morning, you’ll definitely see the results and soon realise why you never did it before.
I already have a pretty extensive morning routine, so adding fuel to that fire probably isn’t something I really need. I’m planning on doing a post all about my morning routine, you’re just going to have to give me time as like I said, it’s pretty extensive!!
Anyway, I best start getting ready for work and beginning that cleanse. Enjoy your day, we’re middle of the week now & heading into the weekend!
See you back here on Friday!
